Tyecuffs: Feminine Handcuffs for the Softer Side of Bondage

When I started Tyes By Tara almost a decade ago, I had no plans to ever venture into the adult market.  I was too focused on the beautiful symbolism of the necktie necklace to even care about much else.  However, as the line continued to unfold and expand, I noticed the need to address power not only in the boardroom but also the bedroom. 

INSPIRATION

Similar to how the necktie necklace embodies the polarity of both masculine and feminine traits, the handcuffs do as well, as they symbolize the polarities between power and surrender.  These polarizing notions captured my imagination and I began to create the intimate side of Tyes By Tara.

DESIGN

After researching the various feminine handcuffs and soft bondage on the market, I noticed that some of them were just not very welcoming.  So I yearned to create a boudoir accessory that was imaginative yet effective and welcoming.  My first few feminine soft handcuffs were made of elastic and were sewed in the middle to ensure that even during the most intense tug, they would still make an effective restraint.  And even better, a quick release so there is no intimation just intimate exploration. 

COLLECTION

Thus, the Tyecuffs Collection was born.  I used Tyecuffs because each design has a tye on it to create a beautifully cohesive collection.  The application is varied.  You can use them and tye them together, put them around your ankles or even tye them to a bedpost.
